‘Best Christmas Pageant Ever’ comes to town this weekend

AMERICUS — The Sumter Players are excited to open the holiday season with a performance of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” Dec. 7-9 at the historic Rylander Theatre in downtown Americus.
Directed by Irmgard Schophen-Davis, this play is a heartwarming, hilarious production relating the story of when a family of misfit children turn a church’s traditional Christmas Pageant upside down and change some lives forever.
The cast features students from Furlow Charter School, Schley County Middle School, Schley County High School, and Southland Academy. Members of the Americus Fire and Emergency Services will also be playing a role in the production.
Show times are 7 p.m. Friday, 2:30 and 7 p.m. Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 9th at 2:30. Tickets are $17/adult and $12/child and can be purchased at www.sumterplayers.org or by calling the Rylander Theatre Box Office at 229-931-0001.
