Health inspections: Feb. 2, 2019

AMERICUS — The following food service inspections were conducted recently by the Sumter County Health Department.
• Waffle House, 1207 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Americus; No new certified safety manager certificate posted; observed no signed copies of employee reporting agreement; observed black build up inside of the ice machine. Person in charge is to have the inside of the machine cleaned and sanitized. Cleaning frequency of the ice machine should be adjusted to prevent future build up; observed that the establishment did not have a copy of the variance approval letter. Person in charge is to obtain a copy of the variance approval letter and make the letter available upon request during future inspections. 1-30-19; score: 84
• Madea’s Diner & Bakery, 105 Rucker St., Americus; observed no copy of the last inspection report posted in the drive-thru window. Person in charge is to post the first third of the inspection report in the drive thru window; 1-30-19; score: 99
• Bison Valley/R&K Catering, 105 Tallent Store Road, Americus; observed build up on the inside of ice machine; observed bare wood counter surface and wood blocks where rea dispensers sit. Also, bare wood on the duct from ice machine. Need to paint/seal these surfaces so they are smooth, non-absorbent add easily cleaned; 1-14-19; score: 94

• Catering Creations Inc., 171 McMath Mill Road, Americus; 1-8-19; score: 100
• Cousins Catering, 111 S. Jackson St., Americus; 1-17-19; score:
• Hibachi Express, 1556 E. Forsyth St., Americus; observed the establishment using cardboard as floor mats in the kitchen; 1-7-19; score 99
• Café Campesino, 134 W. Lamar St., Americus; person in charge could not produce signed copies of the Employee Reporting Agreement; establishment did not have the handout that explained what to do during a vomiting or diarrheal event; 1-4-19; score: 94
