Three Wildcat pitchers work to pitch no-hitter against Dooly County

ELLAVILLE – Three Schley County pitchers: Ricky White, Trypp Lumpkin and Dylan Windham, didn’t give up any hits against Dooly County and worked to shut out the Bobcats 14-0. It was the second game of a doubleheader between the two schools. The Wildcats won Game 1 by the score of 15-0. Both games were played on Tuesday, February 26, at Schley County High School.

White started the game for SC. He pitched two innings, walking one batter and striking out two.

Lumpkin came on in relief of White in the third inning. He was also dominant on the mound. Lumpkin struck out five DC batters and walked two. Then Windham came on in the fifth inning to finish the job. Windham only faced three batters and struck out all three of them to end the game.

The Wildcats scored five runs in the first and five in the second inning to take a strangle hold of the game. They took advantage of eight errors committed by the Bobcats. The Wildcats then scored one run in the third and three in the fourth to finish out the game. The game was run ruled after four innings.

SC center fielder Garrett Peavy went 2 for 2 at the plate and scored two runs. Right fielder Trent Bivins went 1 for 2, scored two runs and drove in two RBIs. Lumpkin went 2 for 3 at the plate, scored two runs and drove in three RBIs.

The Wildcats improve to 5-0 on the season and will try to stay unbeaten when they host Crisp County on Wednesday, February 27. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
