Schley County boys’ track & field wins region while girls finish region runners-up

FITZGERALD, GA – The Schley County boys’ track & field team won the Region 4-A title and the Lady Wildcats finished as region runners-up at the Region 4-A Meet on Monday, April 15, at Fitzgerald High School.
The boys’ team has now won the Region 4-A Championship three years in a row.
The boys’ team showed out, dominating the meet in every event. David Williams won the Boys’ 3200 Meter Run with a time of 11:49 and Aaron Pinckard finished as the runner-up in the event with a time of 11:52. In the Boys’ Pole Vault competition, Landon Dailey won the event as he vaulted a height of 9-00. Dailey’s teammate, Logan Elliot, was not far behind as he finished in second place, vaulting a height of 8-06.
In the Boys’ 4×100 Meter Relay event, the SC team of Landon Dailey, Dartavious Napper, Noah Hammons and Jackson Fulks finished in second place with a time of 44.62.
As for the Lady Wildcats, Perri DeVane and Nyiah Kelley finished in first and second place respectively in the Girls’ Pole Vault event. The 4×100 Meter Relay team of Dasani Minter, Nyiah Kelley, Alexis Bradshaw and Tamia Kelley won that event. Minter also won the Girls’ Long Jump event. Her best jump was a length of 16-05.
