A Flag Retirement Ceremony held on Flag Day, June 14 at the American Legion Post 2 in Americus. American Legion members and Woodmen Life Chapter 202 members attended the ceremony commemorating the day Congress passed the first Flag Act, which adopted the stars and stripes as our national flag in 1777.
