Plains Police host school supply giveaway

- Bookbags were filled with required school supplies that the Plains Police Department gave away free to local kids on Saturday.

PLAINS — The Plains Police Department hosted its annual Back to School Bash from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday beside the department in downtown Plains.
Plains Police Chief David Johnson is shown with a young student who was well equipped with new bookbag and school supplies at Saturday’s event.
Chief David Johnson said they served about 100 kids, loading them up with free school supplies they need for the 2019-2020 school year. He said they also served hot-dogs, chips and soft drinks and the kids enjoyed music during the event.
