Ellaville asks for help for injured city employee
The City of Ellaville is asking citizens to pitch in and help a longtime employee who is fighting to recover from accident.

Otis “Bug” Hudson, who has worked for the Ellaville Water Department for eight years, was badly injured in a car accident on July 20. He is currently a patient at Well Star Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. He and his family needfinancial support as he fights to recover.

A checking account has been opened for him at The People’s Bank in Ellaville where donations may be deposited in the Otis Hudson Fund. Citizens can also drop off donations at Ellaville
City Hall.

A special message released by the City of Ellaville says, “Assist us in supporting a member of our City Family in time of need.”

Community saddened by death of Dot Hambrick

A well-known local citizen, Dorothy (Dot) Brewer Hambrick died on July 31 at age 95.

She had been very active in the community organizations such as the Rainbow Garden Club and her church. She will be greatly missed.

Free legal advice available in tri-county area
The Georgia Legal Services Program provides free civil legal services to all Georgians. Everyone, regardless of income level, with a non-criminal legal problem or question, may ask for advice.

Below are locations and dates that Legal Services representatives will be available in Schley, Stewart, and Webster counties.
• Schley County — 2-4 p.m. second Thursday of each month at Schley County Superior Court, 47 N. Pecan St., Ellaville.

  • Stewart County — 2-4 p.m. first Wednesday of each month at Parks Memorial Library, 890 Wall St., Richland
  • Webster County — 2-4:30 p.m. third Thursday of each month at the Webster County Public Library, 40 Cemetery Road, Preston
