Civic Chorus: The Southwest Civic Chorus meets at 7 p.m. Aug. 19 in Jackson Hall on second floor. It is open to any interested party. Town Hall Meeting: The City of Americus District 6 Town Hall, hosted by Council member Daryl Dowdell, is at 6 p.m. Aug. 20 at Rees Park Economic Development Center, 409 Elm Ave. Citizens, businesses, churches, and other community organizations are invited. Calling All Vendors and Artists: Arts in Rees Park Saturday is planned for 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 7 at 409 Elm Ave. This year’s event, the 21st, features an array of visual and performing art vendors and demonstrations, storytelling, puppetry arts, theatrical performances, live music, children’s games and activities and interactive creative activities for all ages, food and entertainment. This festival is free and open to the public. Last year almost 600 attended.
