TIFTON — On Aug. 31, Miranda Leanna Thompson of Ellaville was crowned the U.S. National Forestry Queen at the annual pageant held in Tifton.

As Miss U.S. National Forestry, Thompson will spend the next year traveling promoting the forestry industry, and acting as an ambassador for the forestry industry and forestry pageant.

Thompson is the 17 year old daughter of Brian and Sonya Thompson of Ellaville and is a senior at Schley County High School, Ellaville.
