Imagine being held by one who loves and adores you simply because you are, sheltered by a mighty oak of a man with the sweetest soul. This is what it was like to be in the presence of Jim Phillips. A gentle giant of a man, Jim had the ability to make you feel at home no matter where you were. He loved fiercely. He was a faithful protector who felt peace in the presence of the wild and the creatures who make the woods their home.
He will be missed beyond measure but we are confident that he is now dwelling in the home of the most high.
Dad, you were our everything. While you are no longer walking alongside us, you will always walk with us. We love you.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Faith Phillips of Americus; one son, James(Taylor) Phillips III of Cincinnati, OH., one daughter, Lauren(Michael) Maleski of Huntsville, AL., one brother, Ross(Belinda) Phillips of NC., and five grandchildren, Jonah Phillips, Ryland Phillips, Davy Phillips, Maddox Maleski, and Patton Maleski.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations to be made to, Central Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, 190 Upper River Rd., Americus, GA 31709.
