GSW Hurricanes defeat Albany State

AMERICUS – The Georgia Southwestern men’s basketball team extended its winning streak to two games by defeating Albany State 84-75 Tuesday night at the Storm Dome.

Four Hurricanes scored in double-digit points. Jalen Jordon scored 17 points and connected on six of his eight field goal attempts. Jordan also collected eight rebounds. Jalen Johnson scored 16 points he hit four of his six shots from 3-point range. He also collected five rebounds and three assists. Justin Monden scored a career-high 15 points while shooting six out of eight from the field. He made all three of his free-throw attempts and facilitated the ball, collecting three assists. Christian Koonce scored 12 points with three assists and two rebounds.

All four of the above mentioned players scored double-digit points in consecutive games and the Hurricanes held a heavy advantage in three-point shooting (8-20, 36 percent).

Georgia Southwestern (4-1) will not play again until December 7, as they host Middle Georgia State in the annual Education Day game at 11:00 a.m. in the Storm Dome.
