Lady Hurricanes defeat Savannah State on the road

SAVANNAH – The Georgia Southwestern State University women’s basketball team extended its winning streak to four games by defeating Savannah State 67-53 on Saturday evening.

The Lady Hurricanes had four players score in double figures. Lexi McCully scored 15 points, tallied two assists and hauled in three rebounds. Kayla Langley also added 15 points she made five of her eight shot attempts. She also added a double-double, hauling in 10 assists. Leah Johnson had a career best 12 points she shot 71 percent from the field, while also adding a double-double and collecting 15 boards. Jashanti Simmons added 10 points on five rebounds and two steals.

The Lady Hurricanes will stay on the road to face off against Albany State University (1-8) at 5:30 p.m. on December 11th, GSW won the first game between the two teams by the score of 78-36.
