The Leslie Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Leslie Community Men’s Club, took place on December 10th.
In spite of the drizzle, a number of onlookers arrived. The parade included golf carts, a tractor, fire trucks, and a horse-drawn wagon. A few folks brought umbrellas, while the rest crowded under the overhang along the downtown strip, talking as they waited for the procession. It made its way from the Leslie Civics Center, going behind Main Street before looping around and parking in front of the crowd. A man in a golf cart gave candy to children, and a Santa posed for pictures, while the Grinch made an appearance nearby.
Participants included the Sumter County Fire Department, Driver’s Propane, the Leslie Fire Department, Circle P Farms, Brickyard Golf Club, Americus KOA RV Park, Town and Country Garden Club, with an appearance of the Sugar Cane Princess Kenlee Summer, and Santa Claus.
