AMERICUS – Cyclists are encouraged to join Sumter Cycling on a ride to Andersonville to help participate in Wreaths Across America. Cyclists should meet at Sweet Georgia Bakery at 10:30 a.m.
Cyclists will ride together to Andersonville to help lay wreaths on graves in honor of those who have served in the military. A short program begins there at noon.
Cyclist will then ride back and share a lunch at Sweet Georgia Bakery, courtesy of Sumter Cycling.
The Wreaths Across America program honors and remembers the sacrifice of military service members during the holiday season. Wreaths sponsored through the nonprofit Wreaths Across America organization are delivered to and placed on gravesites in national cemeteries across the country, including Andersonville National Cemetery.
