Lady Raiders win two of three at Border Wars Tournament

SMITHS STATION, AL – The Southland Academy Varsity Girls Basketball Team (SAR) won two of the three games they played in the annual Border Wars Tournament played at the Glenwood School in Smiths Station, AL.
The Lady Raiders lost their first game to Glenwood on Wednesday, December 27, by the score of 62-40. Mary Beth Easterlin led the Lady Raiders in scoring with 16 points and Adler Rae Owens poured in 13.
In their second game of the tournament against Calvary Christian on Thursday, the Lady Raiders were able to edge out CCS 48-47. In that game, Adler Rae Owens led the Lady Raiders in scoring with 20 points and Mary Beth Easterlin poured in 18.
In their final game of the tournament on Friday, the Lady Raiders defeated Autauga Academy 34-18. In that game, the Lady Raiders were led in scoring by Mary Beth Easterlin, who scored 12 points.
The Lady Raiders will be back in action on Friday, January 5, when they host Valwood. Tip off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
