Aggravated Assault

On January 12th at approximately 5:00 PM officers of the Americus Police Department were dispatched to the 400 block of Crawley Street to a report of a person shot. On arrival they located the gunshot victim, Raymond McCray, age 26, inside a local business and provided first aid until EMS arrived on scene.

The victim was transported to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. Investigation into the incident revealed that several people had gotten into an altercation while standing in the yard of 411 Crawley Street. The verbal altercation escalated into a physical fight resulting in gunfire.

Warrants have been issued for Nadhari Christopher Brown, age 23 of Powder Springs, GA for Aggravated Assault. Arrested at the scene was Michael Timothy Monts, age 55, for tampering with evidence.
