Twists, turns, and murder beset The Windsor Thursday night, with a play and dinner running from 6-9 p.m. The Lobby of The Windsor became a stage as larger-than-life actors in eye-catching costumes performed before a rapt crowd. The characters ranged from a colorful mystic, a mysterious lady in red, and an alcoholic musician with an old flame.

Fans tried to figure out who the killer was with the help of clues and were even able to vote on who they thought was the culprit. Cryptic hints did little to spoil the suspense, and most were left guessing at every moment.

The play was presented by the Sowega Ensemble Theatre, organized by Jeff Green, who was head of the Georgia Southwestern Theatre Department before it was shuttered.

Spectator Charlotte Kleiman described the experience as a “fun collaboration,” while her friend agreed, saying it was well acted. Another onlooker, Zoey Polk, couldn’t contain her enthusiasm. “I thought it was amazing. I thought it was so much fun. I loved trying to put the puzzle pieces together myself. I took extensive notes.”

She expressed appreciation for the dinner that took place during the intermission.

“I loved that they sat us with strangers for the dinner, so we were all swapping theories and clues that we had, and it was so much fun and I loved it and I hope that they do it again next year.”

Kimberly Polk also expressed her enjoyment. “It was very fun to watch. Especially watching these people put this together in a way you don’t know what’s going to happen. That’s the trick of the whole thing.”

The play also ran on Friday, with its final showing slated tonight from 6-9 p.m.
