Kynslee Collins (13), a 7th grade scholar at Furlow Charter School, won the Spelling Bee held in December. Sponsored by the Americus Kiwanis Club, the school’s Spelling Bee featured two representatives from each grade, spanning 3rd through 8th. Kynslee proudly represented both Furlow Charter School and Sumter County at the Region 9 Spelling Bee in Bainbridge held in late February. While Kynslee narrowly missed advancing to the State Spelling Bee, she found the experience invaluable by expanding her vocabulary, building confidence on stage, and spending time with her mother while studying. Kynslee is the daughter of Chelsea and Logan Collins of Americus.
