(Dec. 20-23, 2018)

• Firefighters responded to 16 calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to a suspicious smoke odor inside a residence on Lawson Drive. Upon investigation, no hazards were found. Firefighters responded to the same address later and found a faulty light ballast which resulted in a burning wire odor.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on North Jackson Street. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to Manhattan and Forsyth streets to a report of power line down. Thye found a guide line down which had been moved by Americus Police.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Crawford Street.
• Firefighters responded to Alice Street to help a resident enter their residence after losing the key.
• Firefighters responded to Harrold Avenue to someone burning leaves in the yard. The occupant extiguished the fire after being advised of the city’s no-burn policy.
• Firefighters responded to Flash Foods, 1101 Crawford St., to a gasoline spill. They covered and dispersed the approximate five-gallon spill.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on U.S. Highway 19 South.

• Firefighters responded to Pine Avenue where they assisted Americus Fire & Emergency Services with a structure fire.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on West Furlow Street. There was no fire.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Madison Street. There was no fire.
• Firefighters responded to a woods fire on Ga. Highway 27 East.
